The mountain of Montserrat is located in central Catalonia, straddling the regions of Anoia, Bages and Llobregat, just over 50 kilometers from the city. It is a clump of about 10 km long and 5 km wide known for its rugged and fantastic shapes, and rises to 1,236 meters at the top of Sant Jeroni. It is divided into six main regions: Agulles, Frares Encantats, Ecos, Tabor, Tebes and Tebaida (from west to east). All of them have a lot of possibilities for rock climbing, hiking and some of them have via ferrata and dry canyoning.
The primary access point to the mountain is the monastery, which can be reached comfortably by car, cable car, known as the "Aeri" or train rack. Can also be accessed from the Ermita de la Salut near the village of Collbató, from La Vinya Nova between Collbató and El Bruc, from Coll de Can Maçana pass and from Santa Cecilia.
