Less than 50 km. from Barcelona
All year round
Catalan, spanish, english
This hike is very easy and suitable for all visitors. This simplicity, however, contrasts with the diversity of aspects that a visitor can be informed of, from the natural, geological and cultural perspectives.
Endemic plants such as the famous bear's ear and typical Mediterranean vegetation, with native species such as oaks and laurestine, will accompany us throughout the tour. In addition, birds like robins and great tits (parus major), and a trace of wild pigs, also will become visible during the itinerary.
The hike also includes explanations on geology and the rock formation of the mountain. As important as the natural and geological landscape, the sculptures of the Mysteries of Christ that we encounter along the hike and ending at the Holly Cave will be the occasion to discuss issues related to religion, linked to the history of Catalonia and an important part of our cultural heritage .
We can not ignore that the Holly Cave path is the most important outdoor Catalan modernism sculpture exhibition. Along the route we will find 15 works of artists such as Gaudi, Puig i Cadafalch and Josep Llimona.
